The picture quality on the Vizio xvt373sv is excellent. The smart dimming may not be as good as an expensive tv with full-array LED Backlights, however it does improve the darker scenes a bit. The shadow and contrast quality is impressive, as is the color saturation. This TV has the best contrast I have seen for a TV under 40″.
The sound is quite good. Much better than the average flat screen TV’s. The bass sound is reasonable considering that the speakers are 10 watts each.
Standard definition runs very well .when you use put post-processing on such as noise reduction. There is a plethora of post- processing options available to help make the SD television picture look much better. There is also a lip-sync option in the audio and video menu that reduces input lag associate with these processes.
Watching movies is awesome. It is cool how this TV has a digital toslink/optical output port. You can have 5.1 sorround sound directly from your TV to your amp integrated speaker system. Note, this TV does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack. The setting set on ‘movie’ worked well for Iron Man 2. The 120hz with smooth motion makes those super-fast action scenes much less nauseating.
I believe there is a break in period for the Vizio XVT373SV. I have found that response time has sped up considerably in regards to gaming. I’m quite sure it is not just me getting used to it. I have found that I am tracking my enemies in close quarters much better and the sound is synced up. I recommend this TV for gamers, except maybe for the most hardcore of fighting games such as Streetfighter. I know you guys need the best of the best response time.
The Vizio Internet Apps are brilliant, but a bit slow. There is even an app to see which of my friends are playing Xbox live. There is weather, finance, Wikipedea, Amazon on Demand, web videos, Vudu, etc… What would be really this even more cool is if I could play Pandora in the background while playing the Xbox.
More cool things! The picture within a picture controls are quite intuitive. The resolution is so good that when using the side by side option you can watch both pictures. You can have cable running with the Xbox in the corner when looking for multi-player matches online.
First time start up is fun. You can create a little avatar when you open an account on the TV. Also, the remote is Bluetooth. No more trying to point the remote, just push the buttons and it works, even if something is in the way. Don’t lose the remote. Once you have gone QWERTY it’s hard to go back. The slide out keyboard is a cool feature.
I give the XVT323SV 37′ a five star review. It really is the best 37″ TV. Excellent value for money.
